Installation Steps – Electric Bike Conversion
When you get your delivery of the ordered electric bike conversion kit, you should first check it for any damage. If there is any damage, report to the company. The second step is to find out an appropriate frame. You can make use of alloy rims but never choose to employ alloy forks. Make sure when you use an alloy fork while installing a front wheel hub motor. This is because alloy forks are very vulnerable and these cab break on hitting the road.
While installing the hub motor, always turn your bike upside down and take off the front wheel. Your hub motor axles should fit the front fork hook very precisely. Generally these forks are made standard to fit general motors of size varying from 130 mm to 135 mm.
Now for the wiring part, you should be careful. Wiring from motor to controller should be safely done. Controller can be located according to your own wish. You could place it underneath your handle or at the back of your seat. You can also put the controller inside the battery box if you have ordered for it along with your kit. Putting your controller inside a detachable battery box makes it portable. you can carry it along with you anywhere. You will have to remove the old handle and all the paint, bumps and scratches. These things can hamper the movement of your throttle. Set the throttle with the screw. A battery is generally not included in the conversion kit.
