First and foremost important accessory which should grab your attention is battery. You will observe that whenever you search the market for a convenient electric bike kit, the accessory which gives you numerous options is a battery. Various types of batteries are available in the market which will suit your purpose.
Basically, we can categorize batteries in 3 different types: low-end, mid-end and high-end batteries. Though low end batteries are cheap and easy to find, they will break up in less than 4 months. Mid-end batteries are best suited if you want a cheap but reliable electric bike. High-end batteries are one time investment. Once you get them, they will last you a lifetime.
Sealed lead acid batteries (SLA) are the cheapest batteries available. They can be found at local electronic stores for $20-$30 each. The best way to use these batteries is 3, 12 V 10 AH batteries connected in series. They will give you problem less service for a year. Though they are cheap, they are heavy and the technology is quite old.
Nickel-metal hybrid (NiMH) batteries are mid-end batteries, which costs around $250-$350 each. Though the technology is old, they are reliable and light weight. A 36 V 10AH-20AH battery will suit your bike. Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePo4) batteries are high-end batteries which will cost you around $350-$500 each. Though costly, they are light weight and provide smartest package you bike can get.
