Electric Bike Conversion Kits
Many a times it happens that you want to get a conversion kit for your bike but are unable to decide on any specific one. This blog will help you with some important tips.
As number of things like ice cream and rockets were invented in China, electric bike kits are no exception. Chinese first used these kits to utilize aging bicycles to commute. Though kits have undergone major changes, the basic concept of E-bike remains unchanged.
Though it is written on paper that a 12 AH battery will take you 20 miles in a single charge, practically it's not the case. For an average person weighing 200 lbs, a 12 AH battery pack will cover 14-15 miles. But if you provide some pedal assist, it will cover almost 35 miles. For all practical purposes, a front wheel kit is best. It is easy to install and maintain. It also provides good balance if you use a light SLA battery on a rear mounted rack. Go for a brushless motor when deciding specifications. The reason being, brushless motors are close to 30% more efficient than a brushed motor. This result in 30% more distance covered.
As for the warranty, most of the kits come with a cover for 90 days. But these kits are flawless and will last you a lifetime. Remember one thing, an E-bike kit added to your bike will take you 1000 miles for the same price as a gallon of gas and not produce any exhaust!
